Some people keep fish as a hobby. They keep fish in a fish tank in their home. A good size for a fish tank is one that will hold 40 or 80 litres of water. Fish tanks can be round, square or rectangular. Most fish tanks are made of glass. Do not put a fish tank too close to a window. Too much sunlight makes the water too warm. A few plastic green plants and small stones called gravels need to be at the bottom of the tank. Gravels and plastic green plants are not only for decoration but also they help the fish feel less stressed. A fish tank also needs a pump that pills air into the water. A water filter will help to keep the water clean. A heater will keep the water temperature just right about 25 C.

Rainbow are often seen when the sun comes out after or during a rainstorm. Rainbows are caused when sunlight shines through drops of water in the sky at specific angles. When white sunlight enters a raindrop, it exits theraindrop, it exits the raindrop in a different color. When light exits lots of different raindrops at different angles, it produces the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet that you see in a rainbow. These colors can sometimes be seen in waterfalls and fountains as well. There are double rainbows in nature. In a double rainbow, light reflects twice inside water drops and forms two arcs. In most double rainbows, the colors of the top arc are opposite to those in the bottom arc. In other words, the order of colors starts with violet on top and ends with red on bottom. In addition, rainbows sometimes appear as white arcs at night. These rainbows are called moon-bows and are so rare that very few people will ever see one. Wendy’s Walk Wendy was hot, tired, and bored. She trudged along behind her brother, Bill, as they hiked up the steep trail to the cabin at the fire lookout tower. Buzzards circled lazily in the sky above them, and Wendy wondered whether they would eat her bones if she died out here. The sun was too hot, the trees and bushes were ugly, and the hike was boring.
“Almost there!” Bill said cheerily. This was his first summer working as a fire spotter at the state park. He would be staying on top of a mountain all summer, watching for fires in the forest. He was excited and had not noticed how tired Wendy had become. Finally, Wendy couldn’t take another step unless she rested first. She sat in the shade of a tall pine tree and drank lemonade from her canteen. Bill continued on for a few more moments before realizing that Wendy was no longer behind him.
“Sorry,” he said, returning and sitting beside his sister. “I forgot your legs are shorter than mine.” Wendy stuck her tongue out at her brother but then quickly smiled when he handed her some dried strawberries and peanuts from his backpack. “If you chew them together, it’s like making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in your mouth,” he said. The strawberries and peanuts tasted delicious. Wendy closed her eyes, stretched her arms and legs, and wiggled her toes in her hiking boots. She heard a songbird twittering in a nearby bush and caught the smell of wildflowers. Suddenly the sun didn’t seem so hot, and the trees weren’t as ugly anymore.
